A working maze plan for structured allocations

NDF INVESTMENTS LIMITED reads every mandate as a parcel of ground. We survey the routes, sketch the hedges and mark the gates before a single pound is allocated. The result is investment research and private allocation advisory that stays legible from entry to exit.

Why a plan, not a pitch

Most investment material is written to persuade. A plan is written to be walked. We draw the route before we place the capital, and we mark the gates where the plan will be reviewed. If a route cannot be drawn clearly, we do not pretend that it can.

Independent by design

Our research desk is not tied to a single issuer, platform or product house. That independence is what allows us to compare a structured note against a plain bond, or a private credit allocation against cash, without an incentive pulling the answer.

Built for trustees and families

We work with private investors, family offices and trustees who need a defensible record of why a decision was taken. Every parcel produces a written note that can be shown to a board, a beneficiary or an adviser without translation.

A mandate at NDF INVESTMENTS LIMITED moves through four gates: survey, structure, allocation and review. At the survey gate we record what the portfolio is for. At the structure gate we choose the instruments that fit. At the allocation gate we place capital in tranches. At the review gate we return to the sheet and ask whether the route still holds. Nothing is placed before the route is drawn, and no route is treated as permanent.

Parcel A / Research

Structured Note Research

We map the payoff surface of structured notes line by line, testing autocall barriers, coupon memory and worst-of mechanics against the market path you actually expect. The output is a plain note sheet your advisers can read without a decoder.

Parcel B / Credit

Private Credit Allocations

Direct lending, trade finance and real asset debt are surveyed borrower by borrower. We size the position to your income need, mark the covenants that matter and set the exits in advance rather than inventing them under pressure.

Parcel C / Currency

Currency Overlay Programs

For portfolios held across sterling, dollar and euro, we draw a currency overlay that matches your reporting base. Hedges are rolled on a calendar, collars are costed honestly, and every basis point of drag is logged.

Parcel D / Stress

Portfolio Stress Testing

We run your holdings through rate shocks, credit spread widening, equity drawdowns and liquidity freezes. The result is a one page resilience map that shows where the plan bends, where it breaks and what to do first when it does.

Parcel E / Operations

Custody and Settlement Liaison

We sit between you, your custodian and the counterparty so that settlement dates, corporate actions and currency conversions do not drift. Instructions are confirmed in writing and reconciled to the statement.

Parcel F / Reporting

Investor Reporting Suites

Monthly and quarterly packs are assembled around the questions trustees actually ask: what changed, why it changed, what it cost and what happens next. Every figure traces back to a source document held on file.

P3

A mandate begins with a survey rather than a sale. We take the full picture of assets, liabilities, currency exposure and the date you need money back, then convert it into a written route. Research comes first: we read the instrument, the issuer and the market that prices it. Structure comes second: we choose the wrapper, the tenor and the collateral that fit the route. Allocation comes third: we place capital in tranches so no single decision carries the whole plan. Review comes last and never stops: every gate on the diagram is a date we return to the sheet and ask whether the route still holds.

That discipline is why we can show clients a drawn plan instead of a brochure. The four gates below are the four questions we will ask at each review, and the surveyor flag at the end marks the point where the mandate is either renewed, reshaped or closed cleanly.

Gate I asks whether the objective is still the same. Gate II asks whether the structure still fits the objective. Gate III asks whether the allocation still respects the limits we agreed. Gate IV asks what has changed in the market that the plan has not yet answered. A mandate that passes all four gates is renewed without drama. A mandate that fails a gate is reshaped at that point, not at the end of the year when the damage is done.
